I will admit right off the bat, I am cheating. I told you all that I was going to participate in Life with My 3 Boybarians’ P52 and MCP Actions’ Project 12. Well this time I am killing two birds with one stone. Both prompts are “Resolution”. So I thought I would submit the same picture for both. You know because…well just because. You would do it, too. Admit it. ;)
I am never happy with my weight or my body lately. I have that last 10 pounds to lose and I just regress if I even get close. I actually used to be 40 pounds heavier than I am now. So I have to remind myself that I have come a long way. It is a journey and while I strive for a goal it doesn’t mean I can’t be happy along the way.
I wanted to share info behind the shot because so many people don’t and I want to know it on other sites. If you are interested in the “other stuff” here it is:
Shot with my 50mm 1.8 lens; f/3.2; 1/100s; ISO 640.
I used Photoshop to make the smile on the display. I selected the Ellipse Tool and created a shape that was similar to one piece of a digital display. Then I made 5 more exactly the same. I arranged them to look like a digital smile.
To make it look a tad more realistic I double clicked the layer that the ellipses were on and the Layer Style window pops up. As you can see below, I clicked the drop shadow option and color overlay option. I selected the color to be the same color as the black surrounding the display.
I know kind of cheesy, but this was my very first time manipulating an image like this. What do you think? I think it is kind of funny.

I think it is awesome!! Great job on the editing! and yes...be happy with only 10 lbs to lose--
ReplyDeleteI have photoshop and have lately been just stuck on basic fixes etc. without trying to learn anything new. And it is such a huge program with seemingly endless possibilities! I am going to try new things too! You have convinced me!!
ReplyDeleteLove it :) Lucky you only have 10! I have about 4 times that :( But Im doin it :) Cool photo :)

ReplyDeleteSUCH a cute picture. I love the smiley face. I haven't been commenting much, but I still read all the time. Someday I'll be back in a regular rotation. i liked your blog about not commenting a lot yourself. I'm the same way right now. Have a great weekend!!
ReplyDeleteI love the picture. It looks like you had fun doing it.
ReplyDeleteIt's awesome that's what I think...I don't have photoshop,but I wish I did...I LOVE that you add your settings and editing information...I too have cheated...I'm in P52 & a 365 and used the same pic...
ReplyDeleteOn my picture with the manger, I use Picnik...
Under the effects button I chose the soften option..I used 100% to soften the entire picture and 0% fading...Took my brush and just clicked on the manger part to sharpen just that...Hope that makes sense...
I'm going to check out that other challenge you are doing...
Lord bless...
Denise
