Edit Me Challenge: Week 2

I haven’t joined in the Edit Me Challenge for a while, so it is about time I did.  This week’s photo was submitted by Wild Ginger Photography.  Here is the original that was shared.

First I cropped in, then I content-aware and cloned the upper left corner to make it look as if the fabric covered the entire area.  Next cloned the small part of the bear that was still in the frame off of the baby.  I loved the white balance and the tones, so I didn’t see any reason to mess with them.  I am sure that Celtics bear has a special meaning to the family, but it doesn’t have a meaning for my edit so I was a meanie and took it out. :/
I did go back and forth about whether to make it a black and white or not.  I was truly torn, but ended up choosing a black and white.  So I upped the contrast and sharpness a bit and then went black and white.

What do you think?

Remember, this is NOT my photo.  I am participating in an edit challenge.  You can head over to Edit Me Challenge and participate, too.  Every week there is a new shot to play with.  Yippee!

Edit Me Resource Site:  Editing is fun, but can be a lot of work, so if you need help, Guide to Career Education is a great place to find courses in photo editing.
