What It Was…

Yesterday I had this photo and asked what you thought it was.

macro friday

Now today I am zooming out so you can see what it is.  Pay no attention to the blown highlight.  You cannot see it {waving my hand across the screen like a Jedi}.

I found this guy growing in my front yard.  He was HUGE.  He looks fairly small in the picture, but he was about 6 inches tall and 6 inches in diameter.  Doesn’t he look like a bread roll?  I broke it open and the inside looked just like Angel Food cake.

Now I am hungry and I am going to go get a snack, but not this guy.  Smile

Earlier this week I showed you the huge difference I found between HDR Pro for Photoshop and Photomatix.  The first couple of HDR shots I took I didn’t notice much of a difference.  I have been studying shots that I think are fabulous trying to figure out what I am missing in mine.  Being in Pigeon Forge allowed me the opportunity to see some sights that I thought would be perfect for HDR.  So when I processed them with both programs I noticed why the pros use Photomatix.  So I got it!  I am not a pro, but I do love me some photography.

Here is my photo edited in the non-trial version of Photomatix.  I love it so much I am entering it over at SHOOT.EDIT.SUBMIT.

So I am warning you that you are going to be seeing a lot of HDR shots next week from my trip.

  1. That mushroom is pretty awesome...and stop it with the awesome HDR skills. You're killing me!

  2. I look forward to your HDR shots. I have no desire to even try it, so I'll just enjoy yours :)

  3. Yay for photo-tools and toys ;)

Love your HDR, looking forward to learning and seeing more.

  9. The light and color in the barn shot is stunning. Thank you for sharing!

  10. It's amazing how little it looks in the photo. I thought it was only a couple of inches across at first. I love the barn shot! The colors are so vivid and it's such a beautiful scene!
