This past week I took a couple of the kids on a walk. I had an opportunity to take some neat pictures of flowers and things spotted along the way.
This is my first shot of a bee on a flower. I don’t like the idea of possibly getting stung, so I tend to run screaming like a tiny girl avoid them.
So now I feel super cool. I know, so many people have been posting pictures of bees on flowers or even cooler things like them hovering around, but this is my first so I had to share it. Can you tell I have been drawn to macro shots lately? I love them!

I love your "bee on flower" shot! :) What lens did you use? I am thinking about a macro lens but haven't begun researching yet... great photo!
ReplyDeleteHeidi, I am actually too cheap to buy a macro lens. So I make do with less expensive options. I don't believe in just cropping an image to make it macro. I am going to do a post next week showing my very cheap way of macro photography. It is less than $15.
ReplyDeleteThat is a FANTASTIC shot! The details are amazing! Have you ever tried freelensing? I'm seeing it all over the place lately, but I'm kind of nervous to try it myself (I'm a dork that way).
ReplyDeleteI am so excited for the less expensive way of doing macro!!! Thanks in advance for sharing. :)
ReplyDeleteOh Kim, this is so fabulous! It's a perfect shot! I don't worry about getting close to those bees. It's worth it if you get a shot like this. And I think they're usually too focused on the pollen to notice us!
ReplyDeleteAwesome shot!!
ReplyDeleteWow. Just the right amount of dead space and everything, it looks amazing. And I can't wait for your fifteen dollar macro post!
ReplyDeletewow, wow, that is just gorgeous, I don't know a thing about photography, but this picture is special to you and that means it's special to us too. Great shot!
ReplyDeleteThese pictures are JUST AMAZING!!!
ReplyDeleteWOW! Amazing shot--you need to have this printed out and framed immediately if not sooner! Great job!
ReplyDeleteWow, that is so cool! Good job. I'm surprised you were able to get such a great shot on a walk WITH your kids! Mine are always pulling me in five different directions :-)
ReplyDeletePS. I didn't realize you stopped doing Foto Friday???
Yay for bees! That don't sting you and make pretty photos. :) I have a spider picture like this, and I can only imagine how close you were to this bee...kudos to you for being so brave!
ReplyDeleteSimply gorgeous! Great shot ;)
ReplyDeletegood image!
