Foto Friday: Upside Down

Last week’s shots had some great action to them.  The interpretations were great.  We had everything from capturing things in action to processing actions used on photos.I loved going through and seeing all of the great shots.

Here are some of my favorites, just in case you missed them.

naptime momtog

Naptime Momtog linked up a great shot of her son on a slip-n-slide.  What a fantastic capture to make that moment just frozen in time.  I love the beads of water just stuck in the air.  Fantastic shot!

oh the places you'll go

Oh the Places You’ll Go shared this awesome shot that is so nostalgic.  I love that it is taken from a distance.  Just sneaking in that shot without disturbing them.  The children look like they are having so much fun, too.  It takes me back.  Perfect.

Now this week’s suggested theme is “upside down”.  Next time I have such a weird theme, please slap me.  I have no idea what I was thinking.  I hope participation isn’t down because it is so unorthodox.  But I did enjoy trying to take different shots that fit the theme (after I got over the urge to kick my own butt).

Once again, the theme is just a suggestion.  Please feel free to link up any image that you have taken and would like to share.  If you are new to Foto Friday please read Foto Friday FAQ for information.

From underneath

This picture is from my tag-a-long maternity shoot from this past week.  While I took several photos of my kids in weird hanging positions, I just kept coming back to this one.

Maybe it is because I must have looked like a complete weirdo taking it.  I was lying on the floor, upside down, almost completely under her.  Oh, did I mention we were in a public library while I was doing this?  I told you, I am bold and not afraid to make an idiot of myself.

Next week’s theme is “Broken”

Now I can’t wait to see your shots.  Show us what you’ve got!

  1. Beautiful pictures. The maternity shot is awesome.

  2. I made this photos - me down - the moon up - does it count? :)
If you like have a look on my PicStory - this week: lilac/lavender - next week: flowers
    LG Tina

  3. Thanks for featuring my photo.

  4. oh by the way i love your photo. Great perspective.

  5. Thank you for hosting.
I'm not sure how others feel, but I LOVED this theme. And finding a cooperative bug was a plus! I also love your "entry" and the story of how it was made.
I have a page on my site that lists more than 250 hops, memes, and photo challenges… some for each day of the week. Yours is listed there, too! Check under the header for the link to that page. I’ve also started a BlogFrog community that focuses on hops, carnivals, memes, and photo challenges. Go to to visit & participate.

  6. I didn't have any upside down photos to share, but I hope it's okay I posted my kitty, Jack, taking a snooze.

Love your maternity shot -- great idea and a unique perspective! :)

  7. Well that was a bit of a weird theme but you know I rarely adhere to a theme anyways. I just enjoy linking up with you. Great maternity shot!

  8. Your maternity shot is so lovely! Good to know I'm not the only one out there willing to make a fool of oneself in order to capture a great shot; keep the crazy themes coming!

  9. very creative, I don't think I've ever seen a maternity shot like that.

  10. That is a really awesome maternity picture. You and her are both brave ladies!

  11. This photo made me smile :) :) I really appreciate it! Thanks again... You made my day VERY special again! *Hugs*

  12. Thank you for featuring me. It was such a nice surprise at the end of a difficult day and week.

  13. This is an awesome theme! And your picture is really awesome!

  14. I'm so bummed I missed foto friday yesterday. I was crazy busy this week. (Rick was off work Thur and Fri, so my computer time is VERY limited when he's home) I didn't have anything awesome to contribute anyway. Your photo is fun! Weird, but fun! I can honestly say I've never seen a pregnancy shot like this one :) She looks happy, which is great to capture in a pregnant woman. If she has a pet, you can title this "Fido's view." I hope I get around to seeing all the pictures this week. I love seeing everyone's contributions. Have a great weekend!

  15. LOVE that second one! What a unique angle of the maternity pic. Very neat!

  16. This is a beautiful shot. I thought of so many ideas for upside down, but then I remembered one that I'd taken last week and thought I'd share it. Not so creative but purely upside down :)
