Today Cole and Buddy are having a Spring party at preschool. They can’t call it an Easter party. Don’t get me started.
So I volunteered to bring the cupcakes. For the record, I let the sign up sheet stay out for 2 days before I signed up. I want to make sure to give other people a chance to sign up. But let’s face it, I love to do it.
This is an oldie, but with so many fancy new ways this one might have been forgotten.
I frosted mini cupcakes with a thin layer of store bought chocolate frosting. I took a frosting tip (it says #5 on it) and made a circle around the top. I made another layer inside the outer layer. Does that make sense?
Then I put some jelly beans in the middle. It is supposed to look like a bird nest. You can use mini robin eggs, egg-shaped bubble gum, or whatever you can find that looks like eggs.
Are you making a fun treat for Easter weekend?

I'm hungry and should not have looked at these. They are so cute and look delicious!
ReplyDeleteThey look wonderful!
ReplyDeleteLooks delicious and I bet my kids would love it. I was looking for inspiration and I may just be making similar cupcakes. Great idea!
ReplyDeleteOh I like these a lot. We are going to have to make some tomorrow. I was needing a fun treat to make the kids.

Looks better than my bird nest! I made Peeps cupcakes. I tried to pipe the nest, well, anyway, I think the kids will know what it is. And just placed the Peeps bird on top.
ReplyDeleteWe're going to make resurrection crescents--a favorite tradition at our house!
