Activity To Do When It's Dark

Judging from the news feed on Facebook and Twitter, I know I am not the only mom that despises daylight savings time.  So what do you do with your kids when it is dark at 5:00 pm?

I have one idea.  Use these…

You guys know I LOVE window crayons.  They work great on mirrors and windows.  The colors are so vibrant and true (no Crayola did not ask me to write this).

So I drew some shapes and some letters (upper and lower case) on sheets of paper with a marker.  I taped the paper to the outside of the windows.

I had the kids trace the shapes and letters.

Cole even took the opportunity to turn the circle into a face.  :-)  I loved being able to talk with Charley about the shapes and the colors.

The fact that it is dark outside makes it easy to see the colors really well.  The kids started drawing and doodling.  We had a great time.

So get some Crayola Window Crayons (if you don’t have any).  It is $4.00 of fun in a box!  This is not a sponsored post.  I just really love these things and you will read about them again soon.

Oh, I have to share this with you.  Cole drew this “sign”.  He told me, “It’s a no bees sign, Mommy.  Because they shouldn’t be in here stinging us.”

Cole drew the letter “b” with a circle around it and if you look closely you can see a line going through it (from top to bottom, not diagonally).  Get it?  No "b’s” (bees)!  I thought it was so cute. ;-)

  5. No bees! Priceless. Love the tracing idea. I'm going to steal it. Are the crayons relatively easy to wash off?
