Sippy Cup Coozie

Okay, you guys are going to laugh at me, everyone does when they see my child with this (well they laugh at me for many other reasons, too).
I put a coozie on my child’s sippy cup.  No, it’s not a brand named beer coozie.  Just some promotional pieces I have from various things over time.
Now as it is sinking in more, you see how useful this can be?  Friends laugh then they think about it and start doing at home, too.  It is nothing genius or monumental, but keeps your kids’ hands from freezing in the cold weather and keeps their drinks cooler in the warm weather.
Insulated cups work great, until you put them in the fridge.  Then they are cold all over, not just inside.  So this is what I do.  It works for me.  Try it.
Since we are talking about kids taking drinks, who was the first person to give your kids a sip of soda?
To my knowledge, it was me.  Now you tell…

  2. That is a good idea.

As far as I know, they have yet to have soda. But, I am not quite sure because the other day, Aiyana told me that she drank something real yummy at her grandma's house. It was very sweet and it tickled her mouth. When I asked her what it was she said, "I can't tell you". Hmmmm..

  7. Well, my mom was probably the one who gave me my first fizzy drink, but we really didn't get tons of caffeine in the house until middle school or later. We loved those fruity sodas--probably too much. Mostly she gave us jiuce, water and the occaisional sweet tea. LOVE the coozie idea. I can just see my husband's take on that... =)

  8. I did this when my little one was small, I only did it in the winter time though.
My son has only had 1 sip of the fizzy stuff and it was only because he climbed on the table and took a sip of mine.

  9. Cute idea : ) My husband was probably the first one to give Ryan soda. He always is drinking Dr Pepper (gross!) so I think it probably was that too. Ryan loves it as much as his dad!

  11. We do that with our Klean Kanteen - the metal gets FREEZING in the cold weather!

  12. Cute idea!! We are the ones who give our kids soda for the first time on their 2nd birthday. Their 1st birthday is the first time to have "sweets", no cookies or cake or anything until that first birthday cake. Then we hold off on soda until their 2nd birthday. Our oldest (age 8 now) didn't like it and still doesn't like soda much! :)

  13. That is a cool idea! Love it!

Ok Rick's grandmother and I never got a long I had a strick no pop rule when Cole was little. Even now that boy doesn't need sugar or caffine! But we were at a party when Cole was 2 and I turned around after telling her no please don't give him pop. Turned back around and she gave it to him! I said I just told you NO, she shrugged and said he wanted it. I'm telling you if my parents hadn't told me to be nice to my elders I may have hurt her. A lot lead up to me getting this mad at things she done!
