Card Clip

Do you have a kid that loves to play card games?  Do you also have a slightly smaller child that has a very hard time holding the cards in their hands?  Use a bag clip!  You know, those cheap ones form the dollar store that keep your potato chip bag closed.

It works great for little hands to hold a lot of cards.  It also allows them to space the cards out and pull a card out without all of them falling out.

We are using playing cards to learn and reinforce our numbers.  They work perfectly since they have the hearts (spades, diamonds, or clubs) lined out in the middle.  You can count out the objects and reinforce it with the number.  Also very good for introducing addition.

A big thanks goes out to Maggie C. for sending this tip in!  She has 2 daughters that love to play card games.

  2. We used to use clothes pins when we were little, but with the chip clip you can spread them out better. Great idea!

I never thought to use playing cards. What's nice about that is you can use them in the car too! Thanks!

  4. That probably works even better than the card holder you can buy at the store for $5.

  8. Goodness. I wish I had thought of this years ago. My 9 year old still struggles sometimes to hold all of her cards and resorts to putting them in piles on the table. THis will be used for our second batch of kiddos coming up. Your son looks like he is solving complex calculus problems in his head. He is such a cutie!
