Backpack Bumper

blog 033 We all know that you can’t put everything in the backpack the night before.  Some things need refrigeration, while others are just too big.  The hustle and bustle of getting everyone ready and out the door can cause things to be forgotten.  A neat trick to try to prevent this from happening is to use a clothespin.  Keep the backpack unzipped and clip the clothespin right at the start of the zipper with a note.  This will prevent the zipper from closing, so you will remember the items you need.  This should help alleviate a little stress in the morning.  Sorry I can't make you breakfast or dress your kids any faster.  This is all the help I can offer today.  Try it.

What was your favorite backpack when you were a kid?

  1. You couldn't have posted this last week? I had actually forgot my daughter's science project. We had some serious "drama trauma" going on because of it. We call it drama Trauma at our house. We have 6 girls! Do it is a trauma center for drama. lol. Love the site!

  2. My favorite "backpack" was a denim tote my Mom made for me with appliques of my name and patches of butterflies and the statement "born to be free."
so very 70's. I was mad when my books wouldn't fit in it any more..... In high school I carried a really tough Jansport for 3 years...

  3. Great idea! My son just forgot the poster board he was supposed to bring to school this past week, and of course the lunches that need to stay in the fridge until the last minute are always hard to remember--good tip!

  5. Yes! I love the Punky Brewster one. Takes me back. I never had a character backpack. We never had enough money. My fav was a horrible bubble gum pink colored one that was made of wind suit material. So cheesy, but I loved it. Think mom got it at the flea market. I didn't care. It was the coolest to me. :-)
