The weather is changing and that means no more bare feet for the kids. My 3 year old will be just fine in socks all of the time, but the baby will be a different story. We have carpet, but not in the kitchen, bathroom, or laundry area. The three areas I happen to be in the most, so that is usually where she is, too. When my son was this age, I made homemade slipper socks. It is very easy! Just get a tube of puffy fabric paint, some thick paper or thin cardboard, and your current or new socks. You will want to put the paper/cardboard inside the sock to keep the paint from seeping through and maybe gluing the sock together. Squeeze the puffy fabric paint on anyway you wish, but do not cover the bottom completely solid.
Just a reminder, the more designs you do, the more you have to match up. So if you have a stack of white socks you are painting, you might want to just do polka dots on all in one color, then it is easier at laundry time. These socks work great to keep the kids from slipping and the paint doesn’t bother them when you put their shoes on. Try it.
What is your own slip and fall down story?
