Nursing No Brainer

A “Mommy Moment” is that moment in which your brain flew right out the window.  You just stand there with your mouth open and with no explanation at all, because there is none.  It was just a "Mommy Moment" and that is explanation enough.  We understand and we have been there.  I invite you to start off the week by getting a laugh at someone else expense (in a very good way) and remembering that part of being a mom is being human.

Today's "Mommy Moment" is from a new reader, Kellie.  Kellie is a stay at home mom of 4.  Her children are 7 years, 4 years, and 8 month old twins.  More power to you Kellie, I don't know how you do it.  Kellie wrote me and told me this story:
I was nursing the twins when they were newborns (then it was easier to nurse them at the same time) while my husband was coloring with the kids.  We were all in the living room and one of the babies was finished eating, so I put her on the couch next to me.  I looked over to see the other kids coloring and then turned to my husband to talk to him, when I suddenly realized only one baby was next to me on the couch.  I started to panic!  I shouted, "Where is the other baby?  Where's Lily?  Where's Lily?"  My husband started to crack a smile.  Horrified by this, I screamed at him, "What is wrong with you!  I can't find our daughter and you are smiling?"  He calmly looked at me and told me that the baby was not missing.  He said, "Look down at your left breast."  There she was, still latched on and finishing her snack.  Talk about a Mommy Moment!

That is just too funny!  I think you have a good excuse of sleep deprivation on your side, but still a "Mommy Moment".
If you would like to share your “Mommy Moment” and possibly have it posted, please email it to me.  I would love for you to make comments about this post.  That is what it is here for and I love feedback.  Hope you got a laugh to start off your week, and remember to be a mom, you have to be human.

I believe that laughter and camaraderie are one of the finer things in life and that is why I linked this post to Finer Things Friday on The Finer Things in Life.  Click to see some other great things.

Love this story! Sounds like something I would do, especially yelling at my husband for no real reason.
