Well, it is officially October. Let the halloween madness begin. Your kids will soon be bringing home backpack after backpack full of halloween drawing and paintings. A neat way to use them is to laminate them with clear Contact paper and hang them up as decorations. The Contact paper will keep them from getting messed up and you can just put them in a folder or box after halloween and use them next year. You can keep using them as decorations until the kids are teenagers, then you can just hang them up to embarrass them. It works out great! Try it.
NEW TWIST: Erica sent in a great tip that puts a neat twist on this idea. Erica wrote, "I frame a picture of them in their Halloween costumes every year and we bring them out at Halloween decorating time! So fun to see them through the years from baby to big kiddos and their costumes!" Thanks for the great tip! I am going to have to do this. Has the potential to be extremely embarrassing when they are older! I am such a mean mom. :-)

What is the weirdest creation your child has brought home from school or made at homeschool?

We haven't made anything weird at home yet, but I made something when I was 4 years old that I STILL put out every Christmas! It's a tiny pinecone, rolled in glitter, & glued to a big wooden spool. HAHAHA! It goes on the mantle every year and now it's become a joke. My mom hated it but I always made her put it up (found out when I was older that she hated it), and she gave it to me when I got married so now I put it up in my house!
ReplyDeleteThat does sound pretty weird, but I bet it is kind of cute. I bet your husband just loves the little pine cone guy. lol.
ReplyDeleteI love that idea especially since I'm always snapping pictures anyway. We usually host an annual halloween party that coincides with my one son's birthday and it is his birthday party every other year.
