Grass Man Makeover

Since my son started preschool, a place where they let him use scissors, he wants to cut all of the time.  I do not like him to have scissors unless the baby is napping and I can sit right next to him and watch him like a hawk.  His new obsession with cutting has me worried about the future of my daughter’s hair and the well fair of the dogs.  I have come up with an alternative that will hopefully calm his cutting urges.  I took a styrofoam cup and put some dirt in it along with quick patch grass seed.  I say I, but my son and I actually did this together.  We watered the seeds, watched them grow and within a week, boom... a bunch of grass in a cup.  I drew a face on the cup and gave it to him with some scissors.

He looked at me like, “What am I supposed to do with this?”  I told him to cut the guy’s hair.  He thought it was so cool and so funny.

I thought it was funny when he took his finger and pretended it was a blow dryer and tried to blow off the cut hair.  My son the truck driving, MMA fighting, veterinarian, and...hair stylist?!?  Well Shanon (my friend that does the family's hair), he pays close attention when you cut his hair.

What surprise did you have when your child got a hold of scissors without you knowing?

  1. This is so cute! I want to make one just for the cuteness. Do I have to let my kid cut its hair? LOL.

  2. I don't know if I or my kids did anything, but when I was about two, my brother cut off the finger curls I had in the back (and it took forever for my hair to grow and I had so little - long live bald babies!). Then when it grew back in, he cut it again! I'm surprised my mom didn't kill him!! :)
