You had “butternut” mess with with these cutie ghosts! Cheesy, I know, but I couldn’t resist. This tip came from Maddie. She wrote, "Go to your grocery store or local farmer’s market (some may just go to your own backyard) to get butternut squashes. The funkier the shape, the better. Paint them solid white, then paint ghoulish faces on them. Each one has it’s own personality and makes for a fun centerpiece or mantle decoration. Get the whole family involved in painting them. Even the little guys can cover a squash with paint."
Alternative: If you do not participate in Halloween, keep them unpainted and draw faces on them to represent each family member. Great way to celebrate fall and the change of seasons while still being silly. The kids will get a kick out of Dad's funny shaped head.
If you were a vegetable, which vegetable would you be?
These are too cute! We do Halloween, but don't like to do ghosts, vampires, or witches. We will probably try this as the family members. The kids would get a kick out of it. I guess I would be a cucumber. I am really tall with no curves. lol.
ReplyDeleteReally cute! We do Halloween so we will do this just as pictured.
