Big Boy Bins

I have been trying to teach my son to pick up after himself.  It has been difficult for me to let him do it completely alone because I like things a certain way.  We have inexpensive little baskets from the dollar store that we put small toys in.  I have labeled the bins with what belongs in them, along with a picture.  This way he can put the toys in the proper bin and my brain doesn't explode.  He gets so proud that he has done it all by himself, while I get so proud of him for being a big boy.  You can just doodle a drawing, cut out a picture from a magazine, or take an actual picture of the toys and place it on the container.  So easy, such a sanity saver.  Try it.

What things do you redo after your kids have done them?

  1. Love this idea! We do the same thing at my house! I am a new follower of your blog! I'd love for you to come visit/follow me!

  2. I had subscribed via email a little while back, but hadn't been a google follower. Sorry about that. Now I am. BTW I subscribe under my personal email so you won't see momtriedit(at)gmail on there. :-)

  3. That is a fab idea! I really want my little guy to start picking up. Sounds like this would help a lot!

I follow both of your guys blogs and would love it if you would fan my Facebook page with my handmade baby products!

  4. I saw your Facebook Fan Page and became a fan. Cute stuff. Very non-traditional baby and mommy stuff. I never had pastel diaper bags or characters on them (not that there is anything wrong with that, just not my personal style).
